Need help with OD&D for a convention

Does anybody have a recommendation for a good OD&D module to use for a convention? I am planning on heading to the Erie Day of Gaming on Saturday and want to run a slot using OD&D.

What is the length of time?
Do you want a dungeon crawl, hex crawl, or other?
Preference for levels?

just a short 4 hour dungeon crawl

If you aim the game at newbies, Chgowiz S&W Quickstart is a good option.

How about Jeff Rients's "Under Xylarthen's Tower"?

B2 can work with OD&D easily.
The dungeon in Holmes will work really well, it's fairly stat-less.

I second Under Xylarthen's Tower. But if you do, be sure to use the random XP chart at the back so the players don't all start out at first level. (Unless you want them to run in and out and in and out..)

This Brave Halfling adventure is for beginners and I think it is a pretty good one. It's short enough to be run in one session. I don't think you can get it in print any longer but here is the PDF.

Perhaps I should give the name of the module (sorry!). It is "The Ruins of Ramat".

There's always the sample dungeons in the Holmes and Moldvay basic books...

Though I'll second the tip on Chgowiz's quickstart akban dungeon.

What time are you running your session, Rob? Erie's only 90 minutes or so from me.

A quick lookthrough at the stuff available for OD&D at Dragonsfoot should provide something good.

@Al I did this at the last minute so I don't know it was pretty easy to get a table last year (I ran 4e) I am planning to get there at 9 AM and will try to run two sessions one before noon and one after noon. perhaps one evening.

If you come out I will accommodate you :D

One of my favourite things to do for a Con game is to pick out a smaller section of a larger module. So for example, you could run the lost temple from Isle of Dread, a small section of the Forbidden City, the temple from Curse of Xanathon, or a portion of the slavers series.

I also like to use something for characters higher than 1st level - somewhere in the 4th to 7th level range. It makes them sturdier but not to overwhelming.
