From the Attic: An early roster of gods for the Majestic Wilderlands

I have a file box fill with the first decade of material I created for the Majestic Wilderlands. Among them is a composition book which has some notes on the gods. On the inside cover I drew the symbols of the different religions and some of the sects and orders.

That's really cool (and giving me lots of ideas)! Thanks, Rob.

The Lankhmar gods were pretty cool. I bring this up because there was a city called Ilmatar, but in Forgotten Realms there was a god Ilmater who was the god of humbly enduring suffering. The comparable Lankhmar god was Issek of the Jug, who was basically the Ilmater of FR plus a far better backstory and symbolism.

That's the sort of thing I like. The tons of demigods and little cults all over the place.

Always cool to see some background material, particularly heraldry!

Interesting. It's pretty clear you were reading Hârn stuff at the time you did this as a handful of these are the same as those used for the Hârnic gods.
